About The Reconstruction PAC

The Reconstruction PAC is a federally registered political committee (PAC) organized under the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) and regulated by the Federal Election Commission (FEC). As a registered federal PAC, we are subject to comprehensive campaign finance disclosure requirements.

Committee Name: The Reconstruction PAC
Committee Type: Non-connected Political Action Committee
FEC Registration: On file with the Federal Election Commission

Public Filings

All of our financial disclosures — including contributions received, expenditures made, and disbursements to candidates — are filed with the FEC on a regular reporting schedule and are publicly available. You can access our complete filing history on the FEC website:

Reporting Schedule

As a registered federal PAC in an election year, we file reports on the following schedule:

  • Monthly reports: Filed by the 20th of each month for the prior month's activity (for committees that opt into monthly filing)
  • Quarterly reports: Filed 15 days after the end of each calendar quarter
  • Pre-election reports: Filed 12 days before each primary and general election in which we make expenditures
  • Post-general election report: Filed 30 days after the general election
  • Year-end report: Filed January 31 for the prior calendar year
  • 48-hour notices: Required for contributions of $1,000 or more received within 20 days of an election
  • 24-hour notices: Required for independent expenditures of $10,000 or more

What We Disclose

Our FEC filings include, but are not limited to:

  • The name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of every contributor who gives more than $200 in a calendar year
  • All contributions received, including the date and amount of each contribution
  • All expenditures made, including payments to vendors, consultants, and media outlets
  • All contributions made to federal candidates and their committees
  • All independent expenditures made in support of or in opposition to federal candidates
  • Cash on hand at the beginning and end of each reporting period
  • Total receipts and disbursements for each reporting period

Contribution Limits

The FEC sets annual contribution limits for political committees. For The Reconstruction PAC:

  • Individuals: Up to $5,000 per calendar year
  • Other PACs: Up to $5,000 per calendar year
  • Corporations, labor unions, national banks: Prohibited
  • Foreign nationals: Prohibited

Prohibited Sources

Federal law strictly prohibits contributions from:

  • Corporations (for-profit and nonprofit)
  • Labor organizations
  • National banks
  • Federal government contractors
  • Foreign nationals (including foreign corporations)
  • Any person making a contribution in another person's name
  • Any person making a contribution from funds that are not their own
  • Minors (individuals under 18)

Independent Expenditures

The Reconstruction PAC may make independent expenditures — communications that expressly advocate for the election or defeat of a clearly identified federal candidate — without coordinating with any candidate or campaign. Independent expenditures of $250 or more must be reported to the FEC, and large independent expenditures require 24- or 48-hour disclosure.

Non-Tax-Deductible Status

Contributions to The Reconstruction PAC are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes. The Reconstruction PAC is not a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We are a non-connected political action committee operating under 2 U.S.C. § 431 et seq.
